This is one of my smallest, lightest, most delicate chainmail pieces. I usually make more substantial pieces, but wanted to make something for a friend who wears delicate jewelry. I tried this “Celtic” pattern and loved how light and lovely it turned out, so have made a set for my studio.

Twisted Bliss Designs is a collaborative creative adventure between my partner Andy and I (Tami). We met by a beautiful hot spring in New Mexico and quickly learned that we shared an interest in jewelry making. We spent several years traveling and camping across the country and find most of our inspiration in the spirals and beauty of nature. When we were introduced to wire wrapping, we fell in love with the medium and we’re still addicted 13 years later! We continue to push each others creativity to the next level, always trying to come up with new ideas and patterns. Most of our pieces are collaborations that combine Andy's abstract asthetic and attention to detail with my love of color and perfectionist streak. We retain our individuality by each having our own line of creations as well. We have 28 years of jewelry experience between us, 13 of which were spent collaborating in wire work, and we strive to create a unique product that is handcrafted to last. We love precious and semi-precious stones ~ particularly moonstone, laboratorite, fire agate and ammolite. We chose the name Twisted Bliss Designs because we believe life is about following your bliss and twisting wire is one of ours! Every piece we sell allows us to continue doing what we love and gets us one step closer to our dream of one day owning a little rock and jewelry shop.

Scrap..It Really Adds Up when working with wire. By Wire Wrap Jewelry ~Luann Jamison

As you may know, I work with wire. I do wire wrapping for pendants, bracelets and earrings. I also use wire in the form of rings, making chain maille jewelry. Being a bit of a perfectionist, I "scrap" whatever it is that I don't love. I also make mistakes. No, it's true. Hard to believe, I know, but there it is. So my little stack of scrap, bits and pieces and "start overs" were piling up. On my way to Rio Grande (on line, of course) to purchase more, I noticed that they encourage scrap recycling, and will pay for it. In the case of sterling, the payment for scrap is very very good. That's because they base payment for sterling on fine silver prices. It's wonderful for me.

Here's a piece that, all by itself, generated a goodly amount of scrap. It was the first faceted gemstone that I wrapped. Not easy. The stone needs to rest ON the bezel. Very tricky. But it finally turned out great.


So if you're working with wire, and especially working on new ideas and projects, you might want to consider recycling your scrap. It's valuable.
