Catcophony

The earrings were made by embossing brass and then coloring with inks. The colors run in somewhat a random pattern, intermixing, creating new colors and textures not unlike a watercolor painting. I was playing with the inks to see if I could come up with the look of enamel without have to kiln fire enamel. This technique works well and each time you are not 100% sure how it will turn out, so it is intriguing. I then polish the exposed and raised brass and seal the brass. The sealant also 'moves' the colors, adding another layer of unexpected results. They have been a huge hit at the shows I have done.
